Business Development Director, North America – Retail Solutions

North America (Flexible, with travel)

The Opportunity

Clobotics is seeking an experienced and strategic Business Development Director for North America to lead sales and market expansion in the retail sector. This role is critical to accelerating growth, acquiring enterprise clients, and scaling our presence across the region. You will own the full sales cycle — from prospecting to close — and work closely with Product, Delivery, and Customer Success teams to drive adoption of Clobotics’ retail AI solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling technology solutions to large CPG brands and retailers, a deep curiosity for AI and computer vision, and the entrepreneurial drive to build and lead a high-performing business development function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets by acquiring new enterprise clients and expanding existing accounts.
  • Identify, qualify, and nurture leads within the CPG and retail verticals, targeting top-tier manufacturers, retailers, merchandising firms, and data providers.
  • Build strong, consultative relationships with C-level, commercial, technical, and procurement stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic sales efforts — from initial outreach to solution demonstrations, proposal development, and contract negotiation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and Delivery teams to design and present tailored solutions that address client challenges.
  • Serve as the primary client-facing lead during the sales process, ensuring a seamless handoff to the Customer Success team.
  • Represent Clobotics at industry events, conferences, and executive meetings to elevate brand awareness and pipeline generation.
  • Provide market intelligence and client feedback to inform product roadmap and go-to-market strategy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, with a focus on CPG, retail, IoT, big data, or SaaS/technology solutions.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets in enterprise technology environments.
  • Strong network and established relationships within CPG, retail, or related data/analytics industries.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving technology landscape.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
  • Fluency in English required; proficiency in Mandarin, Spanish, or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of computer vision, AI, or cloud solutions is highly desirable.
